Clinical Trials in Your Research

When relevant, Inciteful Med surfaces active clinical trials alongside published research.

For some questions - especially those about treatment options for serious or rare conditions - published studies aren't enough. Inciteful Med can also pull in active clinical trials from ClinicalTrials.gov so you can see what's currently being investigated and where.

When clinical trials show up

Inciteful Med decides whether to include trials based on the question you're asking. You'll typically see them when:

  • The question is about treatment options for a specific condition
  • The condition is serious, rare, or has limited approved treatments
  • You're asking about experimental or emerging therapies
  • You ask about clinical trials directly

The Clinical Trials panel

When trials are part of an answer, they will appear like a citation. Clicking on one will open the Clinical Trials panel. It shows:

  • Trial name and ID (NCT number)
  • Phase, status (recruiting, active not recruiting, etc.), and condition
  • Sponsor and locations
  • A direct link to the trial's full listing on ClinicalTrials.gov

Clicking a trial link opens the official ClinicalTrials.gov page where you can see eligibility criteria, contact information, and study protocol.

What to do with trial results

Trial listings on Inciteful Med are a starting point - they help you and your doctor know what's out there. To actually enroll in a trial:

  1. Confirm with your doctor that the trial is appropriate for your situation.
  2. Use the contact information on ClinicalTrials.gov to reach the study coordinator.
  3. They'll walk you through the eligibility screening.

Inciteful Med doesn't enroll patients in trials or contact study sites on your behalf.
