Sharing a Report
Send a research report to your doctor, family, or care team.
Once Inciteful Med has finished a research run, you can share the report with anyone - no Inciteful Med account required on their end. This is the fastest way to bring research into a clinical conversation.
How to share
- Open the thread you want to share.
- Scroll to the report toolbar at the top of the answer (or above the report body).
- Click Share.
- The Share dialog opens with a unique link. Click Copy link to copy it to your clipboard.

Paste the link into an email, a text message, your patient portal, or a clinical note. Anyone with the link can open the read-only report.
What recipients see
Recipients see a clean, read-only version of the report - including all citations and references. They cannot:
- Send messages or follow-up questions
- See your other threads or records
- Access any other patient data
They can click through citations to the original sources, just like you can.
Privacy of shared links
Shared links are unguessable (they include a long random token). They're only accessible to people you give the link to. That said, treat the link itself as sensitive - anyone you forward it to gets the same view of the report.
The shared report only includes the question, the agent's answer, and the citations. It does not include your medical records, your patient profile details, or your account info.
Revoking a shared link
If you want to stop sharing a report:
- Open the same Share dialog on the thread.
- Find the share entry in the list and click Revoke.
Revoked links stop working immediately. Anyone who already saved a copy of the report content keeps that copy, but new visits to the link see a "no longer available" page.
Printing or saving the report instead
If you'd rather hand over a paper copy or a PDF, see Printing or saving a report as PDF.
