Closing Your Account
Deleting your account permanently and what gets removed.
If you no longer want an Inciteful Med account, you can delete it. This is permanent and irreversible.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials
- Every patient profile under your account
- Every medical record uploaded or imported
- Every research thread and report
- Every shared link you ever created (links stop working immediately)
What stays
- Anonymized aggregate statistics (counts of questions asked over time, etc.) - these contain nothing identifiable.
- Cached copies that recipients made of any reports you shared - those exist outside our systems.
How to delete
- Contact us and request account deletion. Include the email address on the account.
- We'll confirm by email and process the deletion - typically within 3 days, often much sooner.
- Once deleted, the account and all associated data are gone for good.
We do this through a contact step (rather than a self-serve button) so we can confirm intent - account deletion is irreversible and we want to make sure it's actually you and that you've thought it through.
Just want to clean up some data?
You don't have to delete the whole account.
- Delete a single record: see Deleting a medical record.
- Delete a single thread: see Deleting a research thread.
- Delete a single patient (and everything attached to them): see Deleting a patient profile.
Privacy and your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional data rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Contact us with any data subject request and we'll handle it under the applicable law.
