Switching Between Patient Profiles
Caregivers and patient advocates can keep separate research for each person they support.
Inciteful Med lets you keep a patient profile for every person whose health you research - yourself, a family member, a friend, or anyone you advocate for. Records, threads, and reports stay scoped to the patient you have selected, so research never gets mixed up.
You start with your own profile
When you sign up, Inciteful Med creates a patient profile for you by default, using the name you registered with. That profile is selected automatically - you don't need to add records or set anything up to start asking questions about your own health.
If you only ever research your own health, you can stop here. The rest of this page is for people researching for more than one person.
Picking a patient
The active patient is shown at the top left of the page. Click it to open the patient picker and choose a different profile.
Once you switch, the left navigation will only show research threads for that patient, and the home page suggestions will reflect their records.
Adding another patient
In the picker, click + Add patient. Give them a name, your relationship (e.g. "mother", "client", "child"), and any quick notes you want to remember. See Creating a patient profile for more.
If you're a caregiver or patient advocate, your own default profile is where research about your own health goes. Add separate profiles for the people you care for.
Where else can I manage patients?
Open Settings > Manage Patients for the full list. From there you can edit any profile or delete a profile you no longer need. See Editing a patient profile and Deleting a patient profile.
Caregiving for someone else
If you're researching on behalf of a child or aging family member, see Researching for a child and Researching for an aging parent or family member for the patterns that work best.
