What's Included When I Share a Report?
A common question, and a fair one, given the data Inciteful Med handles. Short answer: a shared report includes the question, the answer, and the citations. It does not include your medical records, your patient profile details, or any account info.
Exactly what recipients see
When you create a share link and someone opens it, they see:
- The original question you asked
- The full report Inciteful Med produced
- All in-text citations (numbered references)
- The full bibliography with links to the source papers
They can click through citations exactly like you can. They can read, copy, and print the report.
What recipients do not see
- Your other research threads
- Your medical records
- Your patient profiles or any patient names beyond what appears in the report itself
- Your email, account info, or billing
- Any ability to ask follow-up questions or make changes
Be careful about what's in the report itself
If you asked a personalized question that pulled from medical records - for example, "What does my CBC mean given my history?" - the report may reference those records to support its answer. That information becomes part of the shared report.
Before sharing, scan the report for anything you don't want the recipient to see. If you'd rather share without that context, ask the question again as a general question (without attachments), then share that version.
Treat the link itself as sensitive
Anyone with the link can open the report. If you ever want to take it back, you can revoke the link - see Sharing a report.
